Where Family Pets Find Loving Care
Prairie Pet Mobile Vet
Clinic Policies
To keep our clinic running smoothly, we have implemented several standards and policies. Please review our clinic policies before your appointment to ensure that you and all of our clients have a positive experience from start to finish.

Appointment Policy
We see patients by appointment only to ensure timely care. While we strive to stay on schedule, emergencies and complex cases may occasionally cause delays. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we value your time.

We do not accept walk-in patients except on designated walk-in days.

Pet Safety Policy
For everyone's safety, all dogs must be on a leash and under control while in the clinic. If your dog is not on a leash, we will provide one to you or we may ask that you reschedule your appointment. Dogs that aren't under control by the owner may be asked to wait in the vehicle until they are able to be put into an exam room. All cats must arrive in a secure carrier. Leashes on cats will not be accepted. This is for the safety of your pets, other people's pets, our clients, and our staff.

Emergency Procedures
If your pet is experiencing a sudden illness or medical crisis during business hours, please call us ahead of arriving so we can be prepared for your pet.
If your pet has an emergency after hours, please call our clinic number at (620) 655-4882. You will speak to an operator - give them as much detail as possible. They will page the doctor. After-hours emergency services are for established clients only.

Rabies Vaccine Policy
In accordance with state law, if your pet is not up-to-date on a rabies vaccination, one will be administered and you will be charged accordingly.

Medication Refill Policy
Please allow 24 hours for medications to be filled. Call our clinic at (620) 655-4882 to request a refill for your pet's medication.

Prescription Food Orders
All special/prescription food orders need to be requested by end-of-business day on Mondays. Orders will typically arrive Wednesday of the same week.

Payment Policy and Options
Payment for services rendered must be made in full at the time of service. We do not accept payment plans. We take cash, check, and all major credit cards as forms of payment. Deposits may be required for hospitalized pets or emergency visits. We charge a $40 fee for returned checks.

No Show Policy
Any appointments that do not show up and do not call to reschedule or cancel will be charged a $50 no show fee. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, call us ahead of time and you will not be charged the no show fee.

Boarding Vaccine Policy
Dogs must be up-to-date on rabies, DA2PP (distemper/parvo), leptospirosis, canine influenza, and Bordetella (kennel cough) to board at Prairie Pet Mobile Vet.

Cats must be up-to-date on rabies, FeLV (feline leukemia virus), and FRCPV (feline respiratory complex) to board at Prairie Pet Mobile Vet.

Parasite Policy
If evidence of parasites is found on your pets during procedures, hospitalization, or boarding, they will be treated with a topical or oral parasite product and the price will be added to your final bill.

Late Arrivals
We understand issues arise. If you're running late to your appointment, please call us. We will do our best to accommodate. We may need to reschedule your appointment.

Children
Children must be supervised at all times in the veterinary clinic. We have a box of toys and children's books available for your child's entertainment.

VCPR
A veterinarian-client-patient relationship must be established through a recent exam (within the last 12 months) to prescribe medication or provide certain medical guidance.
